Extremely helpful and caring, a very good team, I can only speak highly of them.

About Us

Our purpose is to provide the highest standard of care whilst maintaining a homely environment.

We have achieved this by providing twenty bright, sunny rooms all with ensuite bathrooms, three of which have their own private terrace.

All residents’ rooms come with beds and multi channel television.

Although the rooms can be fully furnished, residents are encouraged to bring their own possessions, thus making the space more personal.

Communally, there is a lovely lounge and dining room, both decorated very tastefully.

Alongside the length of both rooms runs a large south facing sun room. This in turn leads to an outside sun deck and barbecue area.

To keep life interesting, we have an extensive range of daily, sometimes twice daily, activities all of which are listed separately.

Our Staff

Our staff have been especially chosen for their dedication and friendly attitude towards the elderly

Everyone is well trained in their field and united in encouraging a full and active life style tailored to individual needs.

The carers encourage the residents to take an active role in their own care and to continue a full and active a life style as possible.

“Merryfields” welcome visitors to take part in any of the activities throughout the day providing that they, like us, respect a resident’s need for privacy, dignity and freedom of choice.

Training

Each member of staff will have their own training scheme worked to suit their position and advancement.

Time will be allotted during their working day in order for them to achieve their goal.

Training will be given both ‘in house’ and at training centres.

Aims and Objectives

Merryfields aims are to provide a loving, caring compassionate home for our residents to live a rich and fulfilled life.

We feel it very important to provide a safe and secure environment whilst preserving dignity and privacy for each service user.

We understand that it is important for friends and relatives to be able to visit at any time.

A member of staff will always be available to listen and help with any concerns.

The care program and the staff development are structured to ensure the highest quality of professional care.

We will provide all entitlements associated with citizenship.

Admissions

Our admissions will be undertaken by two senior members of our staff.

The prospective resident will be invited to spend a whole day with us so they can see if our facility and program is suitable for them.

This will give the staff an opportunity to observe their reactions, involvement and socialising attitude in order to be able to assess whether Merryfields is right for them. From this assessment our staff will be able to establish care and medical needs.

Meals

We provide three meals per day with the emphasis on fresh produce, locally sourced, some of it from our own garden and allotment.

Each resident will be given a choice of dishes for each meal and the menu will be varied every day to try to ensure a healthy, well balanced diet.

Specific dietary needs can also be accommodated and meals may be taken either in the communal dining room or in the resident’s room.

We pride ourselves on our food and visitors are welcome to dine with us.
