Extremely helpful and caring, a very good team, I can only speak highly of them.
At Merryfields Care Home, our mission is to deliver the highest standard of care in a warm, welcoming, and truly homely environment. We understand that comfort, dignity, and a sense of belonging are essential to well-being, and we strive to provide all three in abundance.
Our home features 18 bright and beautifully decorated single rooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom. Three of these rooms offer private terraces for those who enjoy a little outdoor space of their own.
Rooms come with a bed, and while we offer fully furnished options, we encourage residents to bring their own treasured belongings to personalise their space and truly make it feel like home.
Communal areas at Merryfields are designed for comfort, connection, and relaxation. Our stylish and welcoming lounges are beautifully finished to a high standard, offering a cosy space for residents to unwind or enjoy time with others.
These lounges open into a spacious, south-facing sunroom that’s flooded with natural light, an ideal spot for reading, relaxing, or simply soaking in the peaceful surroundings.
From the sunroom, residents can step out onto a sunny deck, perfect for socialising, dining and enjoying warm days.
To enrich daily life, we offer a full schedule of engaging activities twice daily, designed to stimulate the mind and body, and to bring joy and connection to our residents’ lives.
At Merryfields, our team has been carefully selected for their compassion, professionalism, and genuine passion for elderly care.
Each staff member is highly trained and dedicated to supporting residents in living as independently, actively, and confidently as possible.
Our carers go beyond simply providing care, they empower residents to take an active role in their own wellbeing, fostering a strong sense of purpose, autonomy, and self-respect. Visitors are warmly welcomed to take part in our daily activities, as long as they uphold the values we hold dear: privacy, dignity, and respect for every individual who calls Merryfields home.
At Merryfields, we are deeply committed to the ongoing development and growth of our team. Over 50% of our staff hold an NVQ or Diploma at Level 2 in Health and Social Care, reflecting our dedication to maintaining high standards of professionalism and expertise within the home.
Each team member follows a personalised training and development plan tailored to their role and career goals. To support this, we allocate time during working hours for staff to complete training, which is delivered both in-house and through accredited external providers.
This ensures that our staff remain confident, capable, and up to date with best practices, providing the highest quality of care to our residents every day.
Merryfields is more than just a care home, it’s a place where people are supported to live a rich and fulfilling life. We are dedicated to providing a secure, respectful, and compassionate environment that preserves each resident’s dignity and independence.
Visitors are welcome at any time, and a member of staff is always available to answer questions, address concerns, or simply offer a listening ear. We are also committed to ensuring residents receive all rights and entitlements associated with citizenship, with care and staff development structured to deliver consistently high standards of support.
We offer a range of care options to suit individual needs, including respite care, short-term stays, and long-term residential care. Whether someone is recovering from a hospital stay, needs a temporary break from home, or is looking for a permanent, supportive living environment, we’re here to help.
To ensure Merryfields is the right fit, we invite all prospective residents to spend a day with us before admission. This visit allows them to experience the atmosphere, meet our team, and take part in daily life at the home. It also gives our staff the opportunity to observe how they interact with others and begin building a tailored care plan based on both medical requirements and personal preferences.
Admissions are overseen by two senior members of the team, ensuring a smooth and supportive transition into the home.
Nutritious, home-cooked meals are a highlight at Merryfields. We serve three meals a day using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, some grown in our own garden and allotment.
Residents can choose from a variety of dishes each day, and we are happy to cater to specific dietary requirements. Meals can be enjoyed in our communal dining room or served in residents’ rooms, depending on personal preference.
We take great pride in our food, and visitors are always welcome to join us for a meal.
